Sat, Oct 4 Texas Region SCCA - (R)
THIS RALLY HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL 2009. PLEASE COME TO THE NIGHT RALLY ON NOV. 8TH

This rally will use Mapsco's Roads of Texas Atlas to help you follow the course from the Mapsco Map and Travel Center in Dallas to the finish in Granbury. Along the way you will drive fun roads, stop at interesting places, and see the countryside south of the Metroplex. Most of our rally friends already have the Roads of Texas, courtesy of Mapso for the TableTop Rally earlier in the year. If you don't, they will be available for purchase for $10, well below the usual price. This event will be about twice as long as our usual events, which means twice as much fun!  Note:  the  2008 edition of the  Roads of Texas  is required to run the event.

Thu, Oct 9 GrandSport Speedway - (DS)

Level 1 -
Your day begins at 8:00 AM sharp. The classroom sessions cover, among other things, car dynamics, drivers dynamics, car balance, skid characteristics, safety, basic race rules. This classroom session may be run continuously or between drive sessions. Participants are outfitted with helmets, racing uniforms and assigned to cars. The morning consists of several skill exercises to get you use to the cars and the demands of the afternoon lapping sessions.

'Racing Adventure' driver coaches will take you step by step through a full program of driving skills as you explore your potential and develop your abilities in a friendly, no- pressure environment. By the end of the day you will be out there lapping the track at near racing speeds by yourself in one of our Corvettes. Yes, you drive the Corvettes. Not some other car nobody mentioned when you handed over your money. Unlike many others... at Racing Adventures you will be lapping the full track by yourself at your own pace on the first day in a real race car! We are often complemented that we provide more 'in' car track time than most others! No, not just 8 laps like some others but a full day of fun. You will be worn out from driving, not from crawling in and out of a car window! Rest and eat well before your day as you will be doing things that you have never before experienced and this can really wear you out.

We will supply almost everything you need for a great day. Helmets, driving suits, beverages, lunch and even sunscreen are all provided. All that you really need to bring is a pair of shoes that do not have large grip type soles. A narrow shoe with a thin sole is ideal for pedal work. (Find out more) We provide the car, equipment and expertise - what you provide is curiosity and desire.

No qualifications are required beyond a valid drivers license and the desire to listen and learn. A certificate of achievement and an 8X10 color souvenir photo of you beside your race car will be presented during your graduation ceremony at days end.

School Itinerary - Level I

  • Classroom session begins

Racing Adventures - Level II
Those graduates of one of the level one 'Racing Adventures' who want to explore the world of advance driving strategies and skill along with a lot of lapping should also take the level II racing school. Running on Empty: Atlanta Region Champion of Champions

Come determine who is a Champion and who is the Best of the Rest!

COC is Atlanta Region's end of the year event that pits all the points champions against our top Pro class drivers to crown the "champion of champion". We also crown a winner from the "Best of the Rest" from everyone who participated in our points events but didn't win their overall series in their class.  COC is limited to those people whom have run during the regular points events and who are not novices.  Entrants will be competing via the PAX RTP handicap system.

Sat, Oct 18 - 19 Continental Divide Region SCCA - (TT)

The CO/CDR Time Trials Championship is here.

Details can now be revealed, all your hard work and car preparation will be put to the test on the weekend of Oct 18th and 19th.

The CO/CDR Club Trials Championship will be held on Oct 19th, and will be the supporting race to the CDR Enduro held the same afternoon. The season champion wil be decided during the final  CTT session on track for 2008, and will reward the driver who shows the most consistency while driving their fastest possible laps. There will be many other awards, Most Improved Driver, Iron Butt, Lap Hog, Spirit of the Sport, and the Hard Luck Award. A Honda Civic will have as much of a chance of winning, as the fastest Corvette, it will all be determined by driver skill and consistency.

All 2008 CTT entrants have already earned an invitation to the Club Trials Championship, but the stewards will allow a final "last chance qualifier" on Saturday Oct 18th. Starting positions for Sunday's Championship will be determined from the results of Saturday's competition session. A driver will need to drive fast and smart for the whole weekend, in order to be called "2008 CTT Champion"

Entries will be limited to 40 cars, and priority is given to previous CTT entrants. Don't waste time, register today. Saturday Oct 18th is your only remaining chance to qualify for the CTT Season Championship on Sunday Oct 19th.

Please review the Supps and Schedule as posted below.

All cars must pass Tech Inspection either pre- event, or at the track. All cars are subject to impound on race weekend, and cars not in compliance with tech will excluded from results (DSQ). It is the Driver's responsibility to make sure your car is legal, and will pass tech, this includes all safety equipement. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE TOW HOOKS INSTALLED, OR TOW POINTS ACCESSIBLE.
